In the heart of Asciano, since the late 18th century, this pharmacy, founded in 1795 under the name “All’insegna di Sant’Agata” by the Francini Naldi family, stands as a silent witness to past eras. Stepping through the doors of the new "Farmacia De Munari," heir to the Francini Naldi tradition, you are transported on a journey through time. The ancient pharmacy, almost entirely unchanged, reveals its mysterious past thanks to the secret notes of Francesco Francini Naldi, an alchemist and apothecary from the late 18th century. During recent restoration work, the current descendant discovered these notes hidden in the nooks and crannies of the pharmacy, including an arcane recipe: vinpepato, an elixir made from herbs, roots, and fortified wine.

Inside, the atmosphere is enveloped by a neoclassical elegance, where every detail tells a story. The furniture, adorned with golden garlands and Egyptian-style bas-reliefs, evokes an era of sophistication and mystery. The carefully preserved display cabinets showcase ancient glass and ceramic containers, decorated with intricate motifs, that once held medicinal ingredients.
